Joing the coming out party; "A Wet Dream on Elm Street," my first title with Shadowfire Press, drops TODAY! This is a true coming-out party with equal blends of romance and spice; the basics:

Tony, a former football jock--married to his high school cheerleader sweetheart for almost ten years--is spending Halloween with his best friend Scott while his wife is out of town in Seattle. The two buddies--best friends since the fourth grade--plan to spend the night eating pizza, drinking beer, and watching Scottie's bootleg DVD horror films. But when Tony borrows a handful of films from Scott's apartment and finds a hardcore gay porn flick in one of the Freddy Krueger cases, it's all he can do to contain his anger, his sense of betrayal, his shattered trust in his best friend... Or the hard-on that the film is giving him. His attraction to male-male sex sends him overboard with guilt and anger. But that's nothing compared to his growing realization that he might also be sexually attracted to his best friend, and that maybe he married the wrong sweetheart from high school.

Shadowfire Press presented me with the challenge of trying my hand at another Christmas story - and I guess it paid off, as they just took "The Last Noel" from me. After "A Christmas Caroler" (available via eXcessica Publishing on December 14th), plus my story from Torquere, "Deck the Balls," I thought this boy was out of Christmas stories for good; had no idea I had maybe one of the most romantic stories I've ever written still in me.

"The Last Noel" tells the tale of 33-year-old advertising executive Ryan, an ex-minor league baseball player so far unlucky in love. Not for lack of trying, mind you; his first love, at sixteen, left note only quite a scar, but also a "curse" of sorts that Ryan (even if only in the back of his mind) is sure has kept him from meeting the right guy in the seventeen years since.

Which makes things (and Ryan) all the more hard when, one evening in a gay club on the north side of Chicago called Pride of Chucky's, Ryan spots the most beautiful young god he's ever seen in his life. Instantly captivated and intimidated, Ryan is soon filled in on some 411 about the young man by the bar's owner, Chuck - and one factoid he's presented with convinces him the curse he's under has struck again.

That said, Ryan can't shake the 22-year-old club kid from his head; not that day, or the next. So soon he gives in, and embarks on one last try for the real deal - love at last, at Christmastime, when miracles are supposed to happen.

PJ'S POOL PARTY cover art/release date!

Summer comes early in 2010, with the March 1 release date of one my favorite tales, "PJ's Pool Party" from eXcessica! In this story, 22-year-old Mexican boy-toy Jaime leaves Philadelphia and his much-older lover to return to his hometown of Houston, Texas to start over again. A last-minute decision, Jaime's not proud to have had to resort to stripping in a gay club in order to get the money together - but back in Texas, he finds it all worth it when he lands a great room-to-rent situation in a beautiful home with an even more beautiful, laid-back lady ...

A lady who is never home, and whose 19-year-old son PJ is coming home for the weekend, driving down from college in Austin. Jaime and PJ become instant friends - especially when Jaime sees how incredibly hot the tall, dark-haired athletic straight boy is - and when the boys spend the afternoon hanging out by the pool, PJ reveals the fight he's had with his girlfriend ... the fight that led him to driving home alone ... and Jaime instantly begins fantasizing about replacing the girlfriend, sexually, for the weekend.

And when innocent horseplay in the pool leads to a very tight Speedo barely containing Jaime's excitement, the lines between gay and straight become blurred under the hot Texas sun ... and the real games begin.

If you like chills and thrills with your drills, check out my first-ever Halloween-themed story of erotica! "A Wet Dream on Elm Street" drops on October 16 from Shadowfire Press, and tells the tale of a married Italian hunk living in Phoenix named Tony, who's been having some issues with his wife - who, in turn, is currently visiting her best friend in Seattle. A CHRISTMAS CAROLER cover art/release date!

December 14 is the drop date for one of my personal favorites of my work, "A Christmas Caroler" - a short story about a world-weary man trying hard to forget the one-year anniversary of the break-up he had with his boyfriend ... just last Christmas. Even his best fag hag can't brighten up Kevin's holiday, and he's quick to usher her out the door to be alone on Christmas Eve.

But soon, a small snowstorm brings with it a young, blond and extremely adorable Christmas caroler named Nathan, who shows up on Kevin's lawn crooning a racy yuletide tune just for him. Kevin tries his best to shoo the young man away, but when Nathan slips and falls on the snow, Kevin - fearing a lawsuit - carries the boy into his home to administer first aid ...

And soon finds himself blessed with possibly the best Christmas present he's ever received.

STEVEN STRAIT: Baby-Daddy #14

The last name says it all, supposedly (and sadly) - but with one of the most flawless faces a man could ever hope to posses ... not to mention a hot body to back it up, and what seems like a genuinely nice personality ... Steven Strait is a gay boy's wet dream for a boyfriend. He shot to popularity with The Covenant, playing a male witch whose name - Caleb - was even sexy, and even if his script-choosing skills aren't sharp as a tack, you have to give the guy credit; when on-screen, it's impossible NOT to stare, mouth agape, at the sheer definition of "male beauty" the man exhibits from head to toe.

Many a sexual fantasy - either in the mind or on paper - could be written about this incredible-looking, more-talented-than-he's-given-credit-for pretty boy ... and I hope his star continues to rise in the business, as he deserves.

I know something in me rises, everytime I lay eyes on him.

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted - sorry, time for another Baby-Daddy posting too, I think - but I've moved and am trying to get settled in ... and, quite frankly, things have been a bit "odd" to say the least in the transition.

In the meantime, I'm happy to say that a story of mine that I consider one of my personal favorites has sold to Selena over at Excessica (www.excessica.com), and I couldn't be happier about posting this sale in particular:

"PJ's Pool Party" opens with 22-year-old named Jaime - a cute Mexican babe in the woods newly moved back to Houston after leaving his first lover (an older guy he'd been with for a few years) behind in Philadelphia, after Jaime had found out about his cheating. Forced to take a job as stripper just to get the money to get home, once arriving there by Greyhound Jaime barely has enough left to rent a room in the home of a very nice, very busy lady named Charlene. Jaime's thrilled to have found a safe place to say - and when Charlene leaves him to go back to work, letting Jaime know that her son PJ is coming home from college for the weekend with his girlfriend ... Jaime is dumbfounded (and even more thrilled) when PJ shows up and turns out to be a lean, handsome hunk of a man-boy who's left the girlfriend behind because the two had a bad argument. PJ, making Jaime his instant buddy to compensate, invites Jaime to hang out with him by the pool ... and when Jaime's tiny Speedo gives away his "excitement" over playing around with PJ in the water, the heat is on as PJ debates taking a walk on the wild side with his hot new playmate ...

A little bondage and a bit of a foot fetish only add to the fun, and this was one story I was more than "excited" to write myself - mainly because it's based on someone I once knew who could always pitch a tent in my Speedos. When Michael over at Shadowfire Press (www.shadowfirepress.com) said he had one slot left open for a Halloween story, I jumped at the chance to try mixing erotica and horror ... somehow. I've always loved horror films, since childhood, and when I started the story I had no idea it would turn out to be not only sexually overheated ... but ultimately also a romance about what happens when you are able to free your heart and mind at last.

"A Wet Dream on Elm Street" starts off with ex-high school football jock Tony - an Italian stallion of twenty-eight, married since just after high school to former cheerleader Tracy, his high school sweetheart. Tracy's out of town, visiting a friend in Seattle, and it's a few days before Halloween ... but Tony's going light on the celebrating, content with passing out candy and having his best buddy since the fourth grade - Scott - come over for a beer and pizza party, complete with a stack of Scott's bootlegged horror DVDs ... in particular any featuring Tony's favorite villain, Freddy Krueger (note the photos; you don't see FREDDY ho-ing around like those other knife-wielding bitches!).

Tony, already bored with the wife away, borrows some horror films Scott early - but when he puts one of the plain, unmarked bootlegs in and discovers his best friend of nearly twenty years has an entirely different kind of film collection in his apartment, it's all Tony can do to hide his anger ... his pain ... his feelings of betrayal ... and some very other, definable feelings he'd rather not admit he has.

Shadowfire Press has taken the story, for which I am thrilled (Tony and company ended up meaning a LOT to me; a tale much closer to the heart than I'd ever imagined), with a release date of October 16th. Seriously, with photos like these do you need ME to tell you why?

E. LYNN HARRIS: 1955-2009

One of my biggest inspirations as a writer of gay fiction - erotica or otherwise - was E. Lynn Harris ... so it was with real sadness and heartache that I read, this morning, of his passing away at the age of 54.

While I sometimes wasn't the biggest fan of his writing style, Harris - to me - was a natural storyteller, creating characters and storylines that, as his novels went on, I only got more and more involved with. He brought to light the way bisexuality and homosexuality is dealt with - or, more to the point, NOT dealt with - by men in the black community ... but his novels, at their core, dealt with characters that ranged from the heartfelt and humane to the downright dramatic, also dealing with (in many cases) real-life situations that people cope with in their lives every day.

He was often harshly criticized for his writing abilities, something that stung him very much as an artist - but whatever you thought of his work, there's no doubt that Harris was also a wonderful human being, often giving back to his fans and always taking the time to encourage anyone from novice writers to African-American men on the down-low who sought his advice and encouragement. In other words, no matter who you talk to who knew or met the man, they would tell you E. Lynn Harris, at heart, was a gentle, kind and loving human being who made the time for everyone.

I never had the privilege of meeting him, but we did swap a couple of emails about a year back - something I'll always be grateful for, along with all the thanks I owe him for the years of inspiring me to write ... and to write about themes and issues that others might find "offensive" or controversial. It's really sad to learn he's gone, at the young age of 54 especially - but if a good heart is what sends you to heaven, E. Lynn's doing okay.
